Men’s Health Week.
I’m taking strides to save men’s lives.
I was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer late in 2015 at the age of 54. I had a biopsy in January 2016 which came back with a Gleason score of 5 + 4. I had a radical robotic prostatectomy on 24 February 2016. I nearly passed away a week later with Sepsis, but managed to pull through.
All was well for a few years then I had 5 cycles of Chemotherapy and started on hormone therapy. The last couple of blood tests (monthly) have gone up a little so I will probably be going on Yonsa in the near future. That's why I am doing this walk, to hopefully find a cure so the little men of today don't have to go through what me and many other men are going through.
Will you donate today and help fund new research to detect and defeat prostate cancer?
My Updates
Achieved my fitness goal.
Friday 7th Jun Well I have done it. I have decided to keep walking and hopefully raise more money and raise awareness. ShareMade it half way
Thursday 23rd May Today was a milestone. I have made it just over half way to my 25km goal. Feeling pretty good. Might do a short one tomorrow and then rest over the weekend. ShareA little faster today.
Wednesday 22nd May Only did the short course today, 2.9km. My body told not not to be an idiot and go further, so I took that advice. Should make half way tomorrow. Thank you to everyone for your donations, I know PCFA will put it to good use. ShareGetting better
Tuesday 21st May 3.7km today. Feeling a bit sore, but I will keep chipping away at it. ShareFirst walk done
Monday 20th May Just did the first walk. Nearly 3km. Not feeling too bad, back is worse than the legs. See if I can get a bit further tomorrow. ShareThe walk begins
Friday 17th May This coming Monday 20/5 will be the beginning of my 25km. I am not as fit (obviously) as I was before Cancer, so the amount per day might not be great but I am determined to make it all the way over time. Thank you for your support. ShareThank you to my sponsors
